[accessories] D&H 5.56 30 Round Aluminum Magazine $6.99
[Handgun] Sig Sauer P365 (with XRAY3 Night Sights) - $499
The trigger and accuracy on this gun are outrageously good for $348 American dollars. I will say, the entire first mag had FTE, and it took about 100 rounds before it was cycling properly. It's been flawless ever since. the SF elite is much, much, much better than a $350 pistol has any right to be
I had that same issue and it also resolved itself after 100 rounds or so and is now completely reliable and crazy accurate. I love this gun.
How do these compare to the M2.0? Both very similar in price, compact has a 4" barrel and same capacity.
The Canik is often said to be worth $500-600 in today's market in terms of quality (not actual value), but does not have a "proven track record" yet. A lot of people compare directly to a PPQ and it's all personal preference.
If I had $400 and had to choose between this and an M&P 2.0, I would choose this. But I also like the 2.0; I just like these more, and they are harder to find in stock in my experience.
The original are effectively P99 copies. Over time, they have become upgraded "children" of the P99 instead of "copies".
TL;DR - You can't go wrong with either, and it comes down to preference.
Edit - I dont know about the 2.0 trigger, but the trigger on these is fantastic.
Can’t you swap the ppq slide and the tp9 slide with each other? Thought I saw that somewhere on reddit.
Not sure. I think you can the original TP9 and P99 without issue.
Edit: not my video, not saying it is or is not a good idea
Hm. That brings up some possibly cool combinations then.
Love the sandpaper grip on the m&p, eaten all ammo I've given it, no failures, carry it eveyday. I feel like the trigger is nice, decent reset, can really feel where the trigger will break.
Plus, it's made in america, but that's just me. Just my 2 cents, I've never shot a canik, but people say the trigger is pretty nice on the various tp9 models, though I've heard that it can be picky in regards to 115 gr ammo, and apparently the polymer has an expiry date? Just parroting stuff I've heard.
Edit: Don't get me wrong though, a deal for a canik $300 or below and I'm snatching that up so I can see what the hype is about
I have the non-elite Canikand the 5” M&P 2.0. The 2.0 wins hands down. Better trigger, better machining with tighter fit, and it is a laser beam. The Canik is a good fun for the price. But the 2.0 has surprised me over and over again. It might have been beaten out my M9 as the sidearm I grab if we are ever invaded by aliens.
Comparing the SF to the 5" MP isn't a great comparison...the better comparison is the SFx. I actually sold my MP so that I could buy the SFx, and I'm very surprised to hear you say the trigger is better on the MP. The Canik SF series (SA, SF, Elite, SFx, etc) all essentially use the PPQ trigger, which is often talked about as the best striker fired trigger
I really want this, but I also need money too. Ugh.
Will a DA slide function on this frame?
That tungsten tho... 🔥
It will not. But I believe any of the other tp9sf variant slides will work on the elite frame.
What's up with the red trigger? It looks horny.
Had nothing but problems with mine. At least one FTE per magazine.
I 'think' the cerakote is too thick, which leaves the slide to not travel freely on the rail.
It's the heavy spring. It sorts itself out after about 100 rounds or so.
Lock the slide back for a few days and then go and shoot it. Should remedy the issue.
Try shooting 124 gr bullets through it. That's the NATO spec, which the manufacturer touts all over the place.
Best price we've seen for this ever?
Pretty much. This is less than $40 more than what I originally paid for my tp9sa. So far the SA has been rock solid, and this is making me think about selling it for this. Especially considering the fibre optic sights.
People who sell guns to buy different guns confuse me. Eat ramen and buy them all!
It's called upgrading. :>
Best damn sidearm I own currently, and I own a variety of TP9 series. (my sfx is my baby, but still) Absolute best bang for your buck hands down.
$20 shipping to ohio damn that's a killer
... this is not what I needed to see with payday coming in a few short days
