LIVE: UN Security Council discusses situation in Syria
U.S. says some militants withdrawing from Syria's Idlib
What is that giant yellow tube? Looks like a homemade weapon made to fire rpg rockets? It looks like either some sort or launcher or mortar
It's a 120mm mortar.
whats with all the wires on that 12.7mm technical? remotely operated?
You can see what appears to be a motor attached to the gears on the mount, so the traverse is probably electrically driven. If it were a 20 mil or something larger then it might just be so the crew doesn't strain themselves, but because the DshK is such a light weapon by comparison and because there are other wires that presumably control elevation and firing, I would agree that it is probably remotely operated.
