What’s your favorite moment form NLCS Game 7
From Puig’s Instagram story. “Lucky” guys right here.
As promised, a little gift to everyone.
2015 Rich Hill CGSO against Manny Machado’s Orioles
Great news and I’m sure Manny’s happy to be on a winning team
Can someone explain to me the whole narrative of him having to play SS? Did he explicitly come out and say that? I just don't get it because if I was him and I saw how dominant I was at one position (3rd) and how mediocre I was at another (SS) I would want to play the one I was dominant at.
He plays SS cause he played it in the minors before turning into 3rd baseman and wanted to do it again this year cause he wanted max money in a valuable position. He said in an interviewed he would sign as a SS but later said he would change depending on the team but people just remember the interview of him saying He will only play SS. He just wants a lot of money.
In a league where there is no hard cap, it just baffles me how one position is "supposed" to make more than another. Just pay the best players what they are worth. Why do owners have to be so stingy? Really hope the Dodgers open up their wallets eventually.
Eventually? Have you looked at our payroll recently?

It's supply and demand.
There aren't a lot of shortstops who can hit the way Machado does.
So, in general, a power-hitting shortstop will stand to be more value and make more money.
Just pay the best players what they are worth.
So, yah, the players are getting paid what they are worth.
Machado will get paid for his abilities at a hitter at a position that generally doesn't feature that sort of offense.
Why do owners have to be so stingy?
Because it's a business. They want to profit.
Really hope the Dodgers open up their wallets eventually.
This is why other fans hate Dodgers fans. Lol.
The Dodgers are probably in the top 5 in payroll for many many years. They have opened up their wallets.
SS is in charge of starting a lot of double plays. I can see that being a notch on a resume.
We don't want to get stuck with a long bad contract which gives us luxury tax penalties also they will open their wallets in the next two off seasons they went under the tax to spend.
mediocre is even understating it, the dude is straight trash at SS
Phew. Honestly makes me feel a lot better about this. The fact that he's showing willingness to be flexible is a good thing in case the Dodgers re-sign him next year. [I'm not necessarily saying the SS position is Seager's to keep forever, but using defensive metrics so far, Seager is a better SS than Manny, though I'm not as familiar with defensive sabermetric stats.]
So is he taking Muncy’s number 13?
Omg. I can't wait for Friday.
This is the best news of all.
