In Idlib: graffiti in support of Khashoggi
Syria — U.S. (Again) Only Pretends To Fight ISIS
The YPG has killed two TFSA fighters in Bilbil district of Afrin
This is quite symbolic. In Daraa the revolution began, and though there it is still Idlib, we can say that rebels are theoretically done after Southern Front fell almost without the fight. It's just a matter of time before Idlib will join their fate (unless of course, any external factors will prevent it).
Is Daraa AL Balad the whole rebel held Daraa city or just one quarter?
The rebels held like 3 quarters with daraa al balad being the biggest. People use the term daraa al balad now to refer to rebel-held Daraa.
OK, thanks. This looks just unbelievable (in a positive sense). They are taking one town after another, and now even the southern Daraa city, without real fightings and get masses of weapons by the rebels.
It should not come as a shock. These rebels see the writing on the wall. Ever since the fall of Darayaa really, any attempt the rebels have had at resisting has always been futile and just lead to more necessary death. They must have seen that Aleppo a city with a population 20 times greater, with rebels on the outskirts trying to fight there way in, still fell. They saw the absolute speed at which east ghouta, which was an absolute meatgrinder and bastion of resistance, collapsed. In my opinion they made the mature choice, it must have felt like hell for them, the embarrassment, to surrender to your enemy that has made life hell for you and your family, but they ended blood and destruction that would have been split for nothing.
Yet another major victory achieved even faster than anticipated. The war is truly coming to a close.
I feel for the first time in this war like this is truly the FSA's al-Bukamal moment.
Elaborate on what you mean by that?
Their last big defeat in an urban center that's symbolic of their end as a meaningful force and stakeholder in this war. Everything else nearby and everything even in the north in Idlib is HTS/Nusra.
Daraa is the FSA's Götterdämmerung. As Deir-ez-Zor and al-Bukamal were Baghdadi's and Idlib will be Jolani's.
I can say with no reservations that seeing that red, white, and black beauty lapping at the winds over this storied city and progeny of Canaan, symbolizing and encapsulating the Syrian national identity, the return of order and of unity of spirit and of purpose, of the principle and ethos of one people, one nation, one leader indivisible activates all the relevant neural pathways, delights the imagination and the senses. Anything is possible now that history has been steered in its proper direction and arrived at this juncture by the efforts of great men.
The Syrian Arab Army, nay the whole military in every branch, leadership, and resistant people and their allies, are making all possible, making reality bend to their will to shape it as desired, and writing the history of this thing called Syria in the streets of Daraa for a thousand generations hence. They are the children of its past, guardians of its present, and untamed mother of its future. Syria will still have a nation and a civilization to call its own on the face of this rock because of their service, valor, and unshakeable unyielding belief. A triumph of their will over the foreign invasion and everyone and everything that served it.
Sorry if I'm emotional on this day but it turns my legs to quivering aspic but it should be their enemies in foreign capitals kneeling. They've showed and humbled them all, humbled the world. History is not pre-determined. History is what we make it with our own hands. The real fight for freedom by the real rebel, the Syrian Arab Republic, has been won in Daraa. No greater freedom than the collective self-determination of a nation; the army its fist and President Assad its voice, speaker, and manifestation of its will.

That is absolutely unnecessary, 14 days? Talk about being over the top
