South Korea to conduct solo air exercise in December
The Sanctions Effect in North Korea: Observations from Rason
On Thursday, however, Department of Defense and United Nations Command officials were left waiting in the DMZ’s Joint Security Area. The expected North Korean officials never arrived, according to the official who requested anonymity as he was not permitted to talk publicly about the event.
It was not immediately clear why North Korean officials had not attended the meeting or whether they had ever confirmed their intention to.
Yep, things fell apart faster than even I expected. If NK isn't even willing to work with the US with regards to bringing back troop remains from the Peninsula, then there's no way that there's going to be movement forward in denuclearization. This is probably the easiest step.
Well guys, all I can say is I hope China is willing to throw NK under the bus and let it be destroyed once the inevitable bombing starts, because we're going to see diplomacy failing.
At least it cant be said that we didnt give diplomacy a chance.
KJU is no better than his father and grandfather. He is a lying and deceitful piece of shit. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for the summit with Trump but as soon as it was over his true colours came out. He made Trump look like a moron. Trump should never have given him the opportunity to sit with a US President. He didn't deserve it and used it to embarrass the president. What an utter piece of shit.
Time for more maximum pressure. It worked to get NK to put on that summit farce, they should be able to feel the pain pretty quick again.
Except with the trade war glaring up China and Russia will be less likely to enforce those sanctions now. I actually read an article stating that NK gas prices are going down lately due to increased Chinese smuggling.
The US lacks the courage to attack North Korea with armed forces. Korea won this dispute.
I don't know if I would call it lack of courage. Starting a global nuclear war doesn't seem courageous so much as dangerously negligent.
They lack the will to attack, not the courage.
Whatever the reason is, the point is that the US won't do shit.
It definitely takes courage to stand up to evil regardless of the damage it could do to the status quo.
By damage to the status quo you mean tens of millions of deaths, right?
You’re just guessing at a giant number to justify their inaction. You don’t know what kind of intel the largest military in the world has nor do you know if the artillery pointed at Seoul is even still functional.
You’re scared, and I am too, but I don’t want my kids to inherit this nightmare of a situation. Kim is a merciless dictator with death camps and nuclear weapons, if we allow that then others will follow in his footsteps.
I’m not guessing at a giant number or speculating about artillery. North Korea has operational nuclear warheads deliverable by at lead medium range ballistic missiles. You are just being silly if you think they wouldn’t be used immediately. If they are used immediately tens of missions will die because it would be targeting some of the worlds largest population centers.
Kim has been doing what his family has done since the 40’s. Killing tens of millions is not the moral high ground. The moral high ground would be preventing other dictators from developing nuclear weapons. There are plenty of other evil dictators in the world, the only difference here is that Kim has a credible nuclear threat. That is what we have to preempt in the future.
I’m of the opinion that we could wipe out their missile sites before they could even think about retaliation.
I recently read an article about a program that can analyze network equipment to look for slight anomalies indicating nuclear technology, I assume this will be used to find and disable all their launchers in one fell swoop. Like shodan but created by DARPA and utilizing multiple backdoors implanted in tech all over the world by the NSA.
This war has already begun, it’s just being fought in the shadows of the internet at the moment. I foresee a large scale cyber attack long before any nukes fly. As always though, attribution will be difficult and all sides will be pointing fingers and trying to further their own agendas.
All you need to do is read about literally any modern military action to see that none ever goes 100% perfect. You are just fetishizing war. Remember this isn’t a GI Joe game.
War has changed a lot since GI Joe.
I'm looking towards the future, not reminiscing about past conflicts. We'll have a space command in the next few years. The largest military in the world would squash NK relatively quickly, but right now it's not worth the diplomatic fallout.
In-in-inebitabur........ Things are inebitabry going to change! Godamn open your fuckin ears.
Trump needs to be taken out of the White House in a straight jacket
