Rate my Canal City
I see you're a man of culture.
Censor this, way too lewd for my young eyes
I came. I saw. I came again.
Brazilwood camps do not receive the trading post science bonus from rationalism. Generally I prefer one science to 3 culture but brazil wood camps are twice as fat to build. They are far from the best unique tile improvements.
They may not hold a candle to polders in terms of general purpose strength but I think they're pretty damn good when you consider that brazil's primary victory is cultural. Their high net culture per city makes for quite a speedy overtake once you have all the multipliers and conversions for culture/tourism.
Very synergistic with the UA too, considering Carnival doubles overall tourism output. At least 45 culture seen in this screenshot will only turn into 90 tourism later, which is really big all things considering.
It's way way way more easy to generate 1 science vs. generating 3 culture, and thus I prefer the culture. But I agree, it isn't such a great improvement as 1. comes too late and 2. diminishes growth.
now I want to play civ 5 again..
Someone needs to make a "Jackie Treehorn Presents: Civ 5" video. You'd have "Just Dropped In" playing in the background, and the opening could be an upside down production hammer png sliding in between two food symbols.
