SyMod: The SAA controls Masharah and Tel Masharah
Anarchist Kurds Fighting The Patriarchy And The State
Kafr Shams and Umm al-Awsaj under army
They say this but they will be dead silent when the Turkish army annihilates them.
Yes attacking directly SDF right now is not the way to go.But there are other options.Look at what is happening in Idlib every day - the same could be replicated in SDF held areas. There is option of negotiations but this wont lead to anywhere.
They can cause hell through a concentrated insurgency . I wouldn’t expect it to begin until Idlib and the south have been regained though
I can't see a insurgency in Kurd area's and the US doesn't have ton's of boot's on the ground. The US public is fickle
The ypg/sdf wouldn’t be able to sustain idlib level assassinations long term . You can be sure the government has a huge number of spies/sleeper cells in sdf territory
A unified police force operated by a coherent governing body is less vulnerable that the factitious no-mans land of Idlib.
Hmmm true XD . But with the latest info of 70+ tribes declaring hostility to sdf/ypg they are going to have a hell of a time keeping the lid on a government supported insurgency . If they get arms , manpower and intel from gov they can’t maintain control long term
I question the assumption that the tribal leaders have the complete loyalty of the men of the entire tribe. ISIS was able to succeed so well because it offered a different path to power outside the tribal hierarchy, which has become increasingly irrelevant over the decades of modernization and socio-economic change.
I am no expert, but i have a feeling there will be turkish/syrian invasion to these areas, like what Germany and USSR did to Poland.
Except of course Syria can't possibly "invade" Syria?
Why would turkey invade?
Turkey is enemies with what became YPG over 40 years.
Because of syrian turkmen and their flag even looks like north cyprus. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Turkmen
